Ringo Deathstarr is a shoegaze power trio from Austin, TX. Channelling diverse influences such as MBV, Fugazi, The Cure, The Smiths and The Velvet Underground into a uniquely sonic fingerprint of their own, the band released their eponymous EP in 2007. This was followed by a string of singles and a series of international tours hitting both coasts and the streets of the UK and Japan. The band’s debut full-length album, Colour Trip, was released in February 2011 by Club AC30.
After a few years of recording and touring with the band Arizona, hitting the road with Grammy-winning and nominated artists ranging from Band of Horses to the Indigo Girls to Derek Trucks and recording with storied producer Danny Kadar (best known for his work with My Morning Jacket and the Avett Bros), singer/guitarist Nick Campbell and drummer James DeDakis broke off to form the band WAGES. Though very new to the scene, WAGES has seen some early acclaim, performing at this year's SXSW festival and having their song "You" prominently placed in the show Gossip Girl. Their debut CD was produced by Hank Sullivant (of MGMT, Kuroma and The Whigs) and will be released by summer 2011.
