Richard Tener: Master /Owner /Operator And Chief Instructor

In addition to Taekwondo, Master Tener has trained in Tai Chi, Jodokkali, Boxing, Kung Fu, Hapkido, pressure points and control tactics. He has two sons, Vinnie and Stephen, who have been involved in Taekwondo most of their lives. He also has a grandson Rhyze, who is excited to be a part of the "Little Dragons" program offered at the school, designed specifically for 4 and 5 year olds.

Master Tener earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mars Hill College in 1995. Before going "full-time" with the Asheville Academy of Taekwondo, he was a counselor with the North Carolina Department of Correction.

When he's not involved with the tasks of teaching Taekwondo and running the school, he enjoys spending time with his horses Drake and Echo or riding his Harley-Davidson.
